    Notes: Widely regarded as the most decorated and successful club in Nigeria. They are the only NPFL team to have conquered the continent by winning the CAF Champions League and they did it twice back-to-back in 2004 and 2005. They have the most NPFL titles (9) and are currently the defending champions.
  2. Rangers International FC (a.k.a. Enugu Rangers):
